The film Star Wars has paved the way for making Halloweens jam packed with very unique and exciting characters. The lead characters always steal the spotlight. And now it is time that you make cheap Clone Trooper costumes a shot.

Making this costume would also turn out to be cosmic fun. The things you need are not expensive or too hard to manipulate. They may even be right in your own closet and cabinets. Now start digging and look up for these materials: tight long-sleeved shirt, tight white pants, gloves, old white shoes, black and white fabric paints, a set of poster paints, paintbrush, plastic container that fits your head, old white or black shirts or any scrap cloth, sewing kit and old newspapers. You may also need a photo of a Clone Trooper so you could be more accurate with the costume details. With all these prepared, you can now explore your creativity to fit in that galaxy far, far way.

Assembling a cheap Clone Trooper costume is very easy. Lay out the tight long-sleeved shirt. Insert two layers of newspaper inside the shirt and its sleeves. This is so the paint would not bleed through. Use the black paint in copying the chest design of your chosen Clone Trooper. You could use additional paints like red or dark blue to apply as lining for the design. Paint black stripes all the way from the shoulder to the end of the sleeves. Do the same color lining as you desire. As for the pants, paint the crotch area with the same paint application and outlining. Also do the same for the gloves.

Cut strips and six oval shapes for the Clone Trooper costumes shoulder, elbow and knee pads. Attach each oval shape unto the said areas for the pads by stitching half way through. Stuff the oval patch with the strips of cloth. If the stuffing looks enough as padding, close the patch.

For the helmet, cut slits for your eyes, and mouth. Paint the container according to your Clone Trooper style. Explore all the colors that may provide contrast or complement to your whole costume.

Clone Trooper costumes may be dominantly white for civilian or rebel clone troopers. If you feel like being the imperial clone trooper, just substitute the white articles of clothing with black ones. Use black paint instead of the white one for the trooper helmet.

You could also accessorize cheap Clone Trooper costumes with Trooper rifles. This one is also easy to make. All you need is toy rifle, boxboard or any carton, black paint, adhesive tape and scissors. Paint the boxboard; let it dry then cut it out to make big and small cylinders. Decide on the cylinder sizes. Attach with tape the big cylinder to the mouth of the rifle. Arrange the small cylinders below or on the side of the cylinder, making your rifle look bigger.
